I am Joel Walker, an assistant professor of physics at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. I have been married to my wife Laura since 1996, and we have three children: Isaac (2002), Evelyn (2008), and Aaron (2010).
I studied physics as an undergraduate at Harding University, in Searcy, Arkansas, graduateing Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997. I then studied theoretical particle physics under Dimitri Nanopoulos, distinguished professor of physics at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, receiving my Ph.D. in 2005. My family continues to live in College Station, where I maintain multi-disciplinary research collaborations with the high energy physics groups led by Dimitri Nanopoulos (theoretical) and David Toback (experimental) at A&M. I commute to my position at Sam Houston, where I teach and mentor a number of wonderful undergraduate students.
